We're offering kindness for a good cause!

Dear Friends,

Thanks to you, the Circle of Atonement has been able to serve students of A Course in Miracles around the world for more than three decades - regardless of ability to pay. We currently provide full Course Companions scholarships to more than 120 students, and partial scholarships for many more.

While it's bedrock to our organization that programming remain free for those facing financial hardship, this programming is not free to produce. Indeed, as our membership has grown over the past few years, so have the expenses required to serve everyone.

This is why we are asking a few of our key partners to support the Circle's Scholarship Fund through our #GiveaMiracle challenge. In short, we're looking for community members to host a fundraising page and commit to raising at least $250 each by rallying friends, family, and networks to #GiveaMiracle. We are very excited about this fundraising campaign - and we'd love for you to participate!

Here's how it works:

STEP 1. Create your personal fundraising page by clicking on the link above. (It's easy - we've done the work for you!)

STEP 2: Offer an expression of love (i.e. an act of kindness) to someone and then make a donation to your own fundraising page.

STEP 3. Invite your friends and family to #giveamiracle (offer an expression of love to someone else) and donate to your fundraising page.

The #GiveaMiracle challenge will be held between May 20-June 17th and, again, we'd love for you to participate! Getting started is simple, and we know this will be a lot of fun too. We give you all the tools you'll need and we're here to support you all the way.

Thanks for helping us keep our programming free to all who need it.

With love,

Michael Bouchard
Fundraising Committee Chair
Circle of Atonement

Looking for simple ways to #GiveaMiracle? Here are 21 ideas to get you started!

  1. Send a text and tell someone you love them.
  2. Ask a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while to lunch.
  3. Write a heartfelt thank you note to someone who has made a difference in your life.
  4. Do an additional household chore that you don’t usually do with an attitude of joy.
  5. Let go of a grievance you have held.
  6. Write an appreciation card to someone who could use it.
  7. Say a prayer for someone.
  8. Bake something and bring it to work for colleagues to share.
  9. Be a caregiver for a friend’s child to give them a night out.
  10. Let your kid pick out a special activity you can do together.
  11. Purchase a travel bag of small toiletries and donate it to someone in need.
  12. Hold the door open for someone and give them a smile.
  13. Reach out to someone who is lonely.
  14. Make your spouse their favorite dinner.
  15. Pay for the meal of the person behind you in line.
  16. Pause and hold back on a criticism you are tempted to deliver.
  17. Be more curious and attentive on a call to a parent or family member.
  18. Let someone go ahead of you in line.
  19. Exercise more patience when something takes longer than expected.
  20. Leave a server the biggest tip you can reasonably afford.
  21. Write a glowing online review for a small business.

How about a group event?

Another way to participate in the #GiveaMiracle campaign would be to create a fundraising page and then host a volunteer activity for a group to participate in at once. For example, you could gather some friends for a dinner where everyone donates to your page and also brings items to donate to a food bank. Or you could host a walk where everyone donates to your page and then you pick up litter together on a trail. Or you could host a "Goodwill" meeting on Zoom where everyone donates to your page and then you meet online and share what items each person is donating to their local Goodwill or similar organization.

REMEMBER: A miracle is a simple expression of love. An act of kindness. The form doesn’t matter as much as the love that is behind it. The big picture here is to raise funds for the Circle's Scholarship Fund and spread love in the world so feel free to get creative!

Have fun and thank you for helping us #GiveaMiracle!
