We want to build a Course in Miracles CE app for iOS and Android.

Over the next 12-18 months, our goal is to design, develop, and launch a fully-functional A Course in Miracles Completed and Annotated Edition (CE) mobile app that is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. This would not only make the Course accessible to millions of people around the world, but it would also allow any mobile device to become a true practice partner.

What if...

  • You could listen to your Text section while cooking in the kitchen or driving to work?
  • Your phone notified you of practice periods and walked you through guided meditations, exercises, and practice instructions?
  • You could search every volume of the Course at once for key passages or to share beautiful quotes—all from the convenience of your mobile?

We have listened to you and we are building the app that you want to use as students of A Course in Miracles.

This means an ACIM CE app with features that will truly assist and enhance your practice, including:

  • A quality CE audio recording so you can listen to the Course on the go.
  • Advanced search features so you can easily find the quote or passage you need.
  • Pop-up practice reminders that feature your lesson of the day.
  • Guided audio instructions for Workbook practice periods.
  • An embedded glossary so you can click on Course terms and pull up their definition.
  • Note-saving and highlighting options so you can record key insights, questions, or areas you want to emphasize.

We would love to bring this A Course in Miracles CE app to life, but we can’t do it without your support. To build an app with first-class design, fluid features, and top-notch coding we will need at least $50,000. This is a significant expense and if everyone reading this chipped in $10, we could fund the entire project in a matter of hours.

Will you help us build an app that will allow you to boost your own practice and allow us to reach new students around the world?

We would be grateful for any contribution you feel moved to give and we promise to keep you posted on developments along the way. In fact, as a sincere expression of our gratitude, all donors will be the first to receive updates – including initial designs, prototypes, and demos – from our project partner Will Boyce so you can see first-hand how the app is coming along.

On behalf of the Circle’s Board and staff, thank you in advance for your support.

Love,

Robert Perry & Emily Bennington
Circle of Atonement

ACIM APP UPDATE #1: We hit our Phase One fundraising goal!
December 11, 2020

On behalf of all of us at the Circle, I would like to express our sincerest gratitude for your support of our A Course in Miracles Complete and Annotated Edition (CE) app project. We started this project as a literal "leap of faith" when we asked for $15,000 to complete the design phase. Thanks to your generosity, however, we have now raised more than $22,000 and counting! Below you will find a 1-minute video from our app designer / project partner Will Boyce sharing his own thanks for your contribution to this effort. As Will mentions in his video, we will be back in January with an update and some designs to show you! In the meantime, thank you once again for your generosity. We wish you a blessed holiday season.

With love,

Robert & Emily

ACIM APP UPDATE #2: Onboarding Sequence Preview
March 2, 2021

Our A Course in Miracles CE App is well underway! This update video from our project partner Will Boyce offers a first look at the onboarding process - with a guest appearance from his spirited "design assistant" Bea. :)

As of this video, we have raised $32,219 from 199 donors and we are grateful to everyone who has given to this project. We still have a long way to go to reach our $50,000 goal, however, so if you would like to help us bring the CE App to life, you are invited to donate on this page.

Until the app is completed, we will continue to create video updates tracking progress and allowing you to view the latest prototypes. Thank you for your continued support of the Complete and Annotated Edition (CE) App. We are truly grateful.

With love,

Robert & Emily

ACIM APP UPDATE #3: We're moving into development!
May 31, 2021

Our A Course in Miracles CE App design partner Will Boyce has put together this walk-through for you to see the design features completed so far, including advanced search, bookmarking, notetaking, audio, social sharing and what's next.

Also, as Will explains in the video, anyone who makes a donation of any amount before June 14th will be able to access a demo prototype that will work on your phone. This prototype will give you a first look and a chance to experience the app for yourself as it's being developed.

So far we have raised $35,318 from 240 donors and we are grateful to everyone who has given to this project. We still need to raise another $15,000 to fully fund the development, though, so if you would like to help us bring the CE App to life (and test drive the prototype for yourself!) we hope you will contribute using the link on this page. Thank you for your continued support of the Complete and Annotated Edition (CE) App.

With love,

Robert & Emily

ACIM APP UPDATE #4: We are halfway through development!
September 2, 2021

The app team has been hard at work behind-the-scenes bringing this project to life. Will completed the designs and handed off everything to developer Aki Oji about two months ago and, since the development schedule is four months, we are about halfway through this phase. Time for an update!

The good news is that we are ahead of schedule. Aki created a task list of 78 items needed for the development phase and he's finished 50 so far. Being the engineer he is, Aki reminded us that this is a 64% completion rate. :)

The bad news is that we are behind on budget. We had hoped the app project costs would be $50,000, but it's looking more like $60,000. In the interest of full transparency, here's how the funds have been spent so far:

$800 - Payment for an app feasibility study (December 2020)
$20,000 for design (December 2020 - August 2021)
$20,000 for development (June 2021 - August 2021)
$570 for project management (August 2021)

Total spent so far: $41,370

Our remaining expenses include a $12,000 final development payment, and roughly $5,000 for final project management. Right now, the biggest challenges we're facing are (1) importing the Course in a way that easily facilitates advanced search and (2) setting up Workbook practice reminders to be faithful to the Workbook without intruding on the user. As an example of the latter, the app is designed to notify you when it's time to do a practice, but occasionally a Workbook lesson will have morning and evening quiet times, plus an hourly practice, plus frequent reminders, and a response to temptation practice. That's a lot of notifications! So we've built in a pre-set calendar that takes you through the Workbook as instructed and we've also built in some customization features for those who would like to go a little slower.

Once development is complete, we will be moving into the final phase: Testing! We're still working out the details on this, but our plan is to give early, live access of the app to anyone who has contributed to the project. Our hope is that you will "kick the tires" for us and that we can use your feedback to work through any bugs before launching to the general public.

There is no minimum donation amount required to receive early access to the app. In addition, we will also be thanking donors on a designated page within the app itself so, if you haven't contributed yet, we hope you'll consider supporting this important project.

We'll be back with another update soon. In the meantime, thank you for making this possible. Even though we still have a way to go, we could not have gotten this far without you.

Love,

Emily & Robert
